- The team has just returned from the Mitty Speedfest sponsored by Classic Motorsports Magazine at Road Atlanta, where they ran the Thursday test, Friday practice and qualifying, and Saturday’s sprint race. Due to business commitments, the team returned as planned Sunday morning. The weekend’s focus was on adjusting to the new Goodyear radial tire. Though we wished we had brought one more set of rear springs, the effort was largely successful, with Jim King turning a quickest time of 1:27.3 with a car that still has a good bit of understeer. He qualified 9th in the 43 car field and moved up to 6th after only two laps. Unfortunately a broken shift rod on the last lap prevented what would have been a sixth place finish.
